GRIGG PARK

Public BBQ

This small neighborhood park underwent recent upgrades that improved the facilities considerably. One barbecue unit sits under mature trees, including a mulberry that drops fruit in season. The playground has decent swings and equipment for younger kids, though toddlers don't have much designed specifically for them. Basketball hoops give older children something to do. Dogs are allowed off-leash, which brings locals out regularly but also creates problems. Some dogs show aggression, and not every owner picks up after their pet. Aggressive birds occasionally swoop during nesting season. The shade cover is good, which matters on hot days. The location keeps street noise down. It's functional for a quick barbecue with young kids, provided you're comfortable with the off-leash dog situation.
